Surrounded by nearly 250 miles of coastline on the north,
east and south, the Dominican Republic’s beaches are known world-wide, and for
very good reasons. Here, pristine white-sand beaches are lapped by the warm
blue waters of the Caribbean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean.
Because of its location in the Caribbean tropics, weather
conditions of the Dominican Republic are excellent year-round.
During the summer, the temperature can range from 90 F (32 C) at midday to 70 F
(23 C) in the morning. Temperatures hover around 65 F (19 C) in the winter. It
can rain at any time of year, but usually just for short periods in the
afternoon and evening. The warmest months are June, July, August and September.
Marriage Requirements:
Once you have chosen the Dominican Republic to celebrate
your wedding before a justice of the peace, remember that you must bring the
following documents:
1. Photocopies of your passports.
2. Photocopies of your birth certificates.
3. Sworn statement that you are unmarried.
4. In the event that either of the spouses is divorced,
a copy of the divorce decree must be submitted.
5. Two adult witnesses with valid passports.
6. All these documents must be legalized by the
Dominican Consulate in the country of residence and translated into Spanish.
